Aadhar is required to apply for subsidies and various benefits announced by the Government. Aadhar also serves as a Proof of Address, Proof of Identity and Proof of Age. You will also need Aadhar to open a bank account.
When you submit an application for a new Aadhar Card at the Aadhar Enrolment Centre, you will be issued an acknowledgement slip on acceptance of the application. The acknowledgement slip will contain a 28 digit enrolment number of EID which will be required to check the Aadhar Card Status.

In case you have misplaced or lost the acknowledgement slip, you can retrieve the Enrolment Number by visiting the UIDAI website and then check Aadhar Status. The steps to retrieve the Enrolment Number is given below:
Sometimes you might want to make minor changes to the name on the Aadhar Card or update the gender and age, which might have been noted wrongly during the Aadhar Enrolment. You can raise an Aadhar Update Request online by mentioning the details that have to be updated. It will generally take about a week to make the changes. In case there is a delay, you can Check Aadhar Card Update Status online with the URN number provided on accepting the Aadhar Update Request.

Now UIDAI is providing Aadhar PVC Card, i.e., Polyvinyl Card, which is durable and easy to carry. It also has additional security features. The applicants can order the Aadhar PVC Card online. The time taken to deliver the PVC Card to your address in the Aadhar database will be about 15 days. In case you do not receive the card within the stipulated time, you can check PVC Aadhar Card Status online with the following steps.
All PAN holders have to mandatorily link PAN to Aadhar within 31st March 2022. The PAN will be deactivated if not linked with Aadhar within the stipulated deadline. Also, the Income Tax Return filing will not be processed if the PAN is not linked to Aadhar.

You will need the Enrolment Number or EID that is mentioned in the acknowledgement provided at the time of applying for New Aadhar Enrolment. You can also check the status offline by visiting the nearest Aadhar Enrolment Centre and submitting a status request form.
You can check the Aadhar Update Status by visiting the official website of UIDAI at https://myaadhar.uidai.gov.in/CheckAadharStatus. You will have to provide the Update Request Number obtained at the time of placing a request for Aadhar Correction.
When you submit a request for Address Validation Letter, you will receive a Service Request Number. You can check the status of your validation letter by visiting the link https://ssup.uidai.gov.in/verifyAadhaar and entering the SRN Number and the Captcha Code.
It may take up to 90 days to receive the Aadhar Verification Letter. The verification letter will be sent to the address in the Aadhar database.
