MasterCard Secure Code is a smart way to safeguard online payments using the J&K Bank Credit Card. It is a secure online payment service that through its password checkout process confirms cardholder's identity and protects online transactions.
The J&K Bank Credit Card statement is generated on the 20th of every month. This date is technically called the Statement Date. The amount outstanding on the statement date is due on the 10th of the subsequent month. Thus, if the cardholder makes a transaction on the last date before the billing cycle, he/she enjoys a free credit period of 20 days. This period can go up to 50 days if the transaction is made on the first day of the next billing cycle. It is important to learn that the free credit period facility can be enjoyed on if the Total Amount Due is paid on every statement date.
Minimum Amount Due is the minimum amount that a cardholder is required to pay on the due date to avoid reporting a default. This is 5% of the Total Amount Due on the statement date.
Furthermore, the Minimum Amount Due will be more than 5% of the Total Amount Due in the following cases:
- If a default occurs in paying the Minimum Amount Due in any previous statement cycles, the amount also forms part of the Minimum Amount Due in the subsequent billing cycle.
- When the Total Amount Due surpasses the credit limit sanctioned on the card, then the amount over and above the credit limit also forms a part of the Minimum Amount Due.
The J&K Bank credit card holder enjoys the flexibility to pay only the Minimum Amount Due on the due date. This amount is 5% of the total outstanding. The balance is carried forward to the next billing/statement cycle with the applicable service charges. It is important to note that cardholder can pay any amount higher than the Minimum Amount Due, but less than Total Amount Due. The outstanding balance can then be revolved with applicable service charge.
The occurrence of any of the below-mentioned instances is termed as default:
- Failure to pay back the amount due before the pre-determined deadline.
- The cardholder becomes insolvent or his/her credit standing depletes.
- Cardholder's death or accident resulting in Permanent Total Disability
- Issuance of Garnishee order from the court.
- Submission of incomplete, misleading, incorrect, or forged records to the bank.
- The cardholder indulges in any activity that is not a bank interest.
- Dishonour of cheque or any banking instrument issued in favour of the bank.
- Cardholder involved or charged in a criminal case.
