You can either link Aadhar card with a new SIM or existing number via OTP verification.

Here are the methods for Aadhaar card linking:

• Use IVR.
• Visit the official website or store of your telecom operator to link mobile number to aadhar card online at home.
• Visit your nearby Aadhaar Card Update or enrollment centre.

Steps for Linking Aadhaar with SIM for New Users

• Visit the store of preferred mobile operators like Airtel, Vodafone, etc.
• Request for a new SIM
• Submit a copy of Aadhaar Card for identity proof and address proof.
• Scan your fingerprint by using the Biometric Scanner to verify Aadhaar.
• The operator will issue you a new SIM after completing the verification process.
• SIM will be activated approximately in an hour.

Online Method:

Below are the steps to link mobile number to aadhar card online:

• Visit the website of your telecom operator to register a mobile number in aadhar card online.
• Enter your mobile number that you want to link with Aadhaar.
• An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number.
• Enter the received OTP in the appropriate space and click on the “Submit” button to proceed further.
• A consent message will be displayed on your screen. 
• Enter the 12-digit Aadhaar number to link your mobile number with aadhar online.
• A message will be sent by your telecom operator for OTP generation.
• You will then receive a consent message regarding the e-KYC details.
• Accept all the terms and conditions and then enter the OTP.
• After completing this process, you will get a confirmation message about the Aadhaar and phone number re-verification.

Offline Methods:

If you are wondering how to link aadhaar with mobile numberoffline, there are two offline methods: 

SMS based verification 

• Visit the store of your telecom operator and provide a copy of your self-attested Aadhaar card. 
• Submit the mobile number to be linked and Aadhaar card details to the store executive.
• Use the reverification application. 
• A 4-digit OTP will be sent to your mobile number.
• Submit the received OTP to the store executive and then provide biometrics.
• After 24 hours, you will receive a confirmation SMS. 
• Reply with “Y” to complete the e-KYC process.

Verification through IVR

• Dial the toll-free number 14546 with your mobile phone for adhar link mobile number.
• Verify whether you are an Indian resident or an NRI. 
• Press 1 if you are an Indian resident to re-verify Aadhaar.
• Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number.
• Then press 1 to confirm your Aadhaar number.
• Enter your mobile number registered with Aadhaar to receive an OTP.
• Give your consent to permit your telecom operator to access your date of birth, name, and photo from the UIDAI database.
• Then enter the received OTP. 
• Now press 1 to complete the re-verification process.
